My dog, Pokey, is addicted to a freeze-dried meat product, which we buy at Pet Cabaret, an independent pet supply store just outside Roslindale Square.

Pet Cabaret is a truly excellent place -- all natural and organic. (The nation's largest pet food recall, which started in March, hasn't affected them one bit, except perhaps to bring them new customers.) Best pet supply store ever. But this stuff -- can it really be called Doggy Try Me!, or is it an unnamed product? -- seems suspicious. It's brown, powdery, and it comes in a little baggie. Does that remind you of anything?

All I know is, Pokey is one satisfied customer. Sprinkle a little of this magic dust on her food, and she will eat anything.
